Baby's First Christmas!

Jeffrey had a wonderful first Christmas! We went to Lolly's house on Christmas Eve. She was the liturgist at her church this month, so we got to see her perform. Gram got to feed Jeffrey from the bottle for the first time at church,  since we are just about finished breast feeding. Lolly and Gram gave fun Christmas Eve gifts to everyone, as tradition goes. Luke, Renee, Garrett and London couldn't come because Garrett had the flu, so we were sad about not seeing the babies together. On Christmas morning, Santa had come and we opened presents until noon!!! We had a great visit there and spent Christmas night as well.

On the 27th, after quick laundry and repack, we drove up to Dallas for my side of the family's usual after Christmas gatherings. Party at Aunt SuEllen's house one night, stayed with John and Katie. The next night, party at Grammi's and we stayed there with her. Jeffrey was such a trooper. No crying in the car on the 6 1/2 trip up (horrible traffic,) or on the way back. He napped well and was very happy. He's a happy, happy baby, but he does need good, quiet naps! He and Alyssa got to play on their first Christmas. I took tons of pictures while Cara jumped up and down sweating, trying to make them smile. It was a great Christmas! We are very fortunate.

Christmas with Gigi!

Jeffrey's first Christmas began today, complete with baby Jesus, candles, carols, presents, turkey and pie. Our church service included the Lord's Supper and candle light service this morning. Mike showed a video clip from the trip I went on to Israel. It was in Bethlehem, explaining the church built on top of the traditional birth site of Jesus, going down into the "cave," explaining what it would have been like and singing Away in a Manger at the birth place of Christ. That was the most amazing, mind-broadening, life changing trip and am incredibly lucky to have been on it with Mom, Mike and Buckner.
After church, we quickly dropped off our presents for Jen's family. Graham has the flu and is quarantined. Sadly, they will not be going with us to Dallas after Christmas either. Then we went to Mom's house for a wonderful Christmas dinner. I think she was excited to make turkey and dressing and all the good stuff we love because she didn't make it on Thanksgiving. It was such a great meal. Her dressing is amazing. I ate way, way too much! Jeffrey liked the pecan pie!
After lunch/dinner, we opened gifts with Jen, Mark, Lainey and Graham via Facetime. Thanks to the Tamiflu, it seems Graham is doing a lot better, but still contagious. They are making the most of it though!
Thank you for a wonderful Christmas Sunday, Gigi!!!

First Hair Cut!

We went a little overboard with the pictures, but the first hair cut only happens once! Lots of pictures grandmothers might enjoy! I really didn't want to take him to a kids hair place, but after much debate, we decided to beat the traffic and go to this place that is closer to home. The front of the store is FILLED with junk merchandise that will be bad news in the future, but it was the perfect place for the first hair cut. He got to sit in a blue jet and Cars was on the TV. He did great! Our baby boy sure is growing up!

Before brushed
 Before messy
 Back before
 After!
We went for a Starbucks treat across the street afterward and watched and listened to the carolers. They offered to take a picture with us.
Afterward, we did a our final Christmas shopping and out to an early dinner.
I love Saturdays!
