Great Weekend

Jeffrey and I kicked off the weekend with a Friday evening at the pool. Brant came and met us for Music in the Park, which our neighborhood puts on every other Friday night. They have live music and food trucks and everyone brings their lawn chairs and coolers and relaxes.

On Saturday morning, we took a walk back to the park with Lacey. We are so luck y have such a great neighborhood.

We had a quiet Saturday and I had some time to myself, so I went to the theater and saw Malificent, which was great. I got a huge tub of popcorn and a soda for lunch! Saturday night we went to our favorite pizza place, Julian's, where Jeffrey made friends, as always. This morning, we met up with Uncle John and Aunt Katie, Mom and the Hopkins for breakfast at Gigi's house. Jeffrey ended up napping there, which meant he and I were there for much of the day! Our friend's birthday party tonight was cancelled, so I have some time to catch up on my blogging!
Jeffrey is walking more than crawling now. He looks taller everyday. He is babbling more and more, saying more animal noises and real words!

Choo-Choo-mazing Museum Summer Day!

Gigi drove us to New Braunfels in her new car, which is big enough for everyone! We went to the children's museum, the Huisache Grill and the train museum. It's great to take the kids places they all enjoy, it doesn't matter what the age gap is. Jeffrey loved playing at the train table at the museum most, (maybe because he's familiar with the one at the book store and other places we've been.) He played in the "kitchen" there, so when we got home, I got his "kitchen" down from the attic, (Lainey and Bo's old one.) I can't believe how much he's played with it! He's a chef! At the train museum, we asked him if he wanted to ride a train when we go to Colorado, (one of our scheduled events,) and he'd nod his head. After watching and hearing a loud train go by, even waving at the engineer, he was a little nervous and changed his yes nod to a shake of no!

Go Spurs Go! and Water Baby!

We watched the Spurs win their 5th championship last week! Go Spurs, Go!

Jeffrey and I have been going to the pool about twice a week. He is not afraid of the water at all. He wants to put his face right in and tries to blow bubbles like I do. He climbs in feet first, climbs back out, (elbow, elbow, knee, knee) and jumps in to me. He'd rather be free (with me holding him) than in his float. He also loves the splash pad at our pool-it's perfect for his age and not nasty like a baby pool is! Nice!

Lainey and Bo spent one morning with us last week while Aunt Jen went to work. We had so much fun. They decorated his homemade blocks with stickers and markers and played with him and read to him. Graham-Bo takes a special interest in Jeffrey, so he cut up his food for lunch AND fed him while I unloaded the dishwasher and cleaned up. He wants to have a sleep over with Jeffrey for his birthday! I'M looking forward to it too!!! Lainey read Jen's bits and pieces aloud from our copy of Tired and laughed out loud for a long time. After J went down for a nap, Graham read Diary of a Wimpy kid out loud to us. Love these kids!

BEACH 2014!

Another good beach trip is in the books! We had a great visit with Brant's side of the family. Jeffrey takes a while to warm up and is still having some serious separation anxiety, but slept well and took great naps the whole time. The seaweed was terrible and there was no good place for a baby to play in the sand, so we swam in the pool, went on walks and hung out to visit!
