I was scheduled to be induced at 6AM on lucky January 13 and I think Ty agreed that was a lucky day. Contractions had been irregular for days, but in the middle of the night, early the 13th, they got closer and more regular. At 2, we called labor and delivery and told them my contractions were 8 minutes apart and have been for an hour. They told us to come on in. I was relieved that labor was happening naturally. I didn't like the idea of being fully "induced," and liked that it was the right time! Gigi came to be with Jeffrey and off we went to the hospital. By 6 I had pitocin and by 8 I had an epidural. We listened to soft piano music most of the morning. We had a great time talking in the delivery room with our fantastic nurse, who also went to Baylor, our anesthesiologist, who went to my high school and Dr. Harle, who is a big Aggie. Our sweet baby boy was born at 12:28 after about an hour of pushing. He weighed 7 pounds, 11 ounces and was just over 20 inches long. It was a very peaceful and happy delivery. A great experience. I immediately said, "Let's do it again!" and Brant looked at me like I was nuts. The first thing I said when I saw him, with happy tears in my eyes was, "He's perfect! He looks just like Jeffrey!" An he has been pretty perfect ever since. He's a very good baby. We've had some issues with reflux, but we'll figure it all out. He's absolutely wonderful. We are all adjusting well.
The day before delivery, January 12th
Arriving at the hospital at 3AM
Brand new, right before some skin-on-skin time and first feeding. Our L&D nurse was a big Baylor fan. She kept calling him Tyler Bear, which I've called him a lot ever since! Dr. Harle said he had his thumb up and was giggin'em! haha
Snuggling in bed on our first night at home with both my boys
