A Concert Weekend! and more...

Lainey spent the night on Friday. We left the boys at home and went to see Passing Strangers at our neighborhood's "Music in the Park." We danced our tail feathers off, ate pizza and snow cones, danced more and had a BLAST! This girl is so much fun!!!

On Saturday, Brant and I went on a date while Gram and Grandpa came to stay with Jeffrey. He has absolutely no problem with us leaving him...whew! We ate a fabulous dinner at Silo and went to the Tobin Center to see Travis Tritt, one of my favorites. We sang our hearts out. It was a fabulous one man show with lots of feeling. Great idea, Brant!

Making chocolate chip cookies with Lainey
 Scooping up our flour mess!
Never lets go of Mater, Sarge in his lap too.
A little taste of the Disney's CARS obsession:

He now has shirts and caps...none of which I purchased, but ALL of which he LOVES!!!
He must wear this bracelet or some kind of insect repellent  outside because mosquitoes eat him up!
Reading books and snuggling on "Mama's Bed" before naptime

Walk in the park, pointing at a bothersome fly
 Swinging with Clifford

 Leisurely morning painting time
Hard at work
Bo spent the night Monday. We had a great time and Bo is such a big help!
 Haircut

Bo read 4 stories to J before nap AND before bed.
Morning!

Doc's River

It seems to have rained nonstop since March. There has been terrible flooding everywhere, so we've gone to check out Dad's river place a couple of times. It's amazing how water can change things. It's also sad when that happens, because it's that much different than the way Dad left it. He would have been working so hard to get it all cleaned up. Mom and I couldn't lift heavy stuff, but picked up a little this morning.
Brant, Jeffrey and I went to look right after the biggest storm and this was after it went down about ten feet.

Dad's favorite spot to sit, (he chained the stump to that tiny tree)

The weather was absolutely beautiful this morning and we spent more time there than I thought we would. Jeffrey LOVES the water.

I hope Doc somehow knows how much we love being there.

Buddies and Stuff

We met this handsome dude with his mama at library baby time when he was 5 months old and Jeffrey was 4 months old. Turns out, they live down the street from us, a ten minute walk and we have become very good friends. Jeffrey can now say his name and his mother's name. They are playing together more and more, (as opposed to parallel play,) and amaze us all the time! Sweet family, great friends.

The Memorial Day service at church was beautiful. A soloist sung You Lift Me Up with violinist. I'm fine, until Dad's name and description was on the screen, then I lost it. I've been extremely emotional lately! Singing Jesus loves me with Jeffrey makes me tear up.
 The pool opened!
Splash pad at our neighborhood pool
Only one sick day in the past 3 months! Woo-hoo!
 Animal card matching game
Blue themed bath night
This is a typical dinner for Jeffrey, except when we have salmon, he eats about 4 times this much salmon.

Brant just read this over my shoulder and said, "interesting..." I had to remind him that this is my version of a baby book-I can't think about what anyone thinks! It's for our family to look back on one day and if you want to see what we're up to, great!

A few cute pictures from a pretty morning before library time-

Quadrangle

We grew up going to the quadrangle at Ft. Sam Houston and I suppose Jeffrey will too! This is his second visit. It is such a beautiful, peaceful and historical place. We got to see a peacock spread it's feathers, feed the ducks and geese and watch Jeffrey attempt to climb trees.

He loves to pick up sticks, just like Lainey used to do!
Cute pic checking out this guy.

Watching the procession of horses
He enjoyed his very first Whataburger on the way home and almost ate the whole thing. Whataburger is my favorite, so he will be having more!!!
